What type of tape should be used with cork underlayment when installing a floating floor over top?Updated 2 months ago

The type of tape used on cork underlayment isn’t critical—and in most cases, taping the underlayment isn’t even necessary when a floating floor is being installed above it. Some installers choose to tape the seams simply to keep the cork sheets from shifting during installation, but this is mainly for convenience, not performance.
If, however, a plastic vapor barrier is being installed beneath the cork underlayment, that vapor barrier should be taped (sealed) to prevent moisture from reaching the floor system.
